Disappointed

I have been managing patients with chronic non-specific LBP for over a decade. The book is well written, however I find the fact that Peter O'Sullivan should have had at least a chapter in this book. I cannot understand the reason for this not to happen, apart from big personal differences amongst the authors and O'Sullivan. I'm not saying here that I prefer one to another, but a book that is entlited state of the art and science cannot levae O'Sullivan's views and experience out of the question.
More chapters should have been dedicated in providing treatment suggestions and programmes.

Good book for the study of motor control of the lumbar spine.

This book is very interesting as it explores all the dimensions of motor control for the lumbar spine. All the theory is presented in a very wide spectrum of themes concerning motor control. The authors attempt to expose all aspects of motor control of lower back, including the most applied and clinical KNOW HOW of motor control of the lumbar spine. The only BUT is exactly what the title doesn't specify: it concentrates its study of spinal control on the lumbar spine, not the spine or the back. This is a very good book for newcombers in the field.

But Sue only knows a small part of the scheme, and it will affect both her and Maud in ways she does not realize. I'm almost always disappointed in the writing

I'm a big Dickens fans and will occasionally pick up a modern book that professes to be "Dickensian". I'm almost always disappointed in the writing. However this book did not disappoint; I get the sense that Ms. Waters really researched the vernacular of the day. Like Dickens, her plot was dense and yet fun. Maybe a bit slow in parts but overall a great romp with some awesome plots. And dare I add to all my fellow heterosexual readers - don't turn your nose up at this! It's a very fun read regardless of your sexual preferences. I will definitely look up some of Ms. Waters other books.

Fingersmith is AWESOMELY GREAT!

Beautifully written! Fingersmith has more twists and turns than the modern day thrillers that are my favorite genre. I love a novel with an unpredictable plot. If I can figure out the ending, I classify the text as formulaic and therefore unsatisfying. Fingersmith keeps the reader guessing and keeps the reader surprised. This is fiction, but yet it seems so realistic as it portrays betrayal, love, and trickery at its best! Wow! I would also classify this as great historical fiction. I plan to read more of Sarah Waters's work. This novel is more satisfying in plot development than one of her later works, The Paying Guests. (less)

A must read!

There are not enough stars to boast the worthiness of this book/author! I read the 582 pages in just under three full days. To say I couldn't put it down is an understatement. There are more twists and surprises in this book than I have experienced in a long time, and I'm an avid reader. The writing is rich with vivid descriptions that sets the camera rolling in your head. The characters are fully developed and unique to themselves. I absolutely love this book and have recommended it on my Facebook page.

Mark is currently traveling the United States in search of lost treasure with his metal detector. His travels have taken him to some of the best metal detecting hunting grounds on the planet, and every day he learns more about what he calls the greatest hobby in the world: treasure hunting. When given a break, he resides in Montrose, Colorado.

Ready to go find my treasure.

What a great book. Mark is very humerus. I didn't expect to be both informed and entertained. I picked the book up because ever since childhood I've dreamed of treasure hunting with a metal detector. The price of a detector was always what stopped me, but after reading Mark Smith I'm inspired to sell anything valuable I've got laying around so I can find a detector and go out hunting for treasure, just like I've dreamed about since my childhood. He encourages you to just get started even if you start with a basic cheaper machine and boy am I. I've been eyeballing a $4,000 machine for years but haven't taken the plunge for the price, but with the info I've learned from his book, I feel I can safely buy a used decent start up machine for a few hundred. Although, admittedly, he doesn't advice this for beginners.
No more videos and books and dreaming for me. Mark, thank you for the fun read, I'm off to find my treasure.

The best book for a great hobby!!!

What a great way to start a new hobby. I bought this as a gift for my brother but started reading it bored at work. I felt myself wanting to try this exciting new hobby after reading only a few pages. Now my brother has to wait until I finish it. It has tons of tips, lots of informative information and is written in an easy to read format. I felt like I knew this guy after reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone who may have an interest in Metal Detecting. This book has it all. Thanks Mark Smith

About the Author
Dr. Schultz is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Lakeland, Florida and is licensed in both Texas and Florida. He has been providing therapy in both in and outpatient settings since 1984. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and has been licensed as a clinical psychologist since 1994. Dr. Schultz works with individuals, couples and families and presents communication workshops for premarital and married couples. He also presents stress management workshops for individuals, government agencies and corporations. He is currently adjunct faculty at Webster University, teaching graduate classes in personality and psychotherapy.

Dr. Schultz is the author of A Language of the Heart: Therapy Stories That Heal which is a USA Book News Best Book Award finalist and co-author of the cognitive behavioral treatment book: Trauma Practice: Tools for Stabilization and Recovery and workbook: Tools for Trauma: A CBT Approach.

Dr. Schultz is a Master Traumatologist, certified compassion fatigue specialist, board member of the Polk County Critical Incident Stress Management Team, a member of Green Cross, and the Community Crisis Support Team of Tampa.

Life-changing... in the really good way

This is my first review on Amazon.com. I feel it's necessary to say that because I've read a lot, watched a lot, purchased a lot, and this is the first book to inspire me to put fingers to keys and tap out an actual review. I won't share too much more personally, but this book is life-changing- in the good way, of course. There are so many reviews out there that remind you that no one book can solve everything. I have to disagree. A Language of the Heart can fix it all... because it fixes the way you think. In this book you are reminded that you are perfect just the way you are (and it explains just what that means), how to protect yourself and others from anger (the most useless emotion of all), how our past shapes who we are today (but in a totally non-victim non-blaming kind of way), and the value in allowing yourself to be sad.

It's so tiny... yet so powerful.

Get it, read it and start living your life

This little book changes the way I view everything: myself, people around me, and the world. It is a very simple and easy-to-read book, but it contains some of the most profound revelations I have ever come across. If, like me, you have always felt somewhat dissatisfied with certain aspects of your life, but can't figure out what you need to do in order to feel validated, joyful and content, then this book will give you the tools to fix things for yourself. It has taught me to not rely on other people to make me happy, and that ultimately, true happiness comes from within ourselves. It contains exercises which you would need to do in order to benefit from this book fully. Probably the only self-help book you'll ever need. Everything else you can figure out for yourself with the help of this book. I am surprised it has only one review so far. A hidden gem!

Excellent book for those who want a better life

Packed full of information and wisdom. I have read a lot of self-help books...some good, some bad. This is a very good one. My therapist gave me this book to read and it had been a wonderful addition to my medicine bag of healing tools. From the title, I would have thought that the book was mainly case studies, but not so. Schultz discusses how to recognize problems (old maps) in your life and how to respond with intention instead of just a "knee jerk" reaction. The exercises are easy, yet thought provoking. I highly recommend this book.

In 1921, Paul Amadeus Dienach, a Swiss-Austrian teacher with fragile health, falls into a one-year-long coma. During this time, his consciousness slides into the future and enters the body of another man in 3906 A.D.

When Dienach awakens from his coma, he finds himself back in 1922. Knowing that he doesn't have much time left, he writes a diary, recording whatever he could remember from his amazing experience: the mankind’s history in the forthcoming centuries, from the nightmare of overpopulation and World Wars up until the world-changing globalisation, the radical new administration system, the colony on Mars and the next human evolutionary stage. Without any close friends and relatives to entrust, he doesn't say a word to anyone out of fear of being branded a lunatic.�

Before he dies, he hands his diary to his favourite student, George Papachatzis, later prominent Professor of Law and Rector of Panteion University of Greece.�The diary circulates as hidden knowledge amongst high ranking masons in the lodges of Athens. In 1972, professor Papachatzis, despite an intense dispute, decides to publish Dienach’s diary in Greek.

Paul Dienach was not an author, poet, or professional writer. Rather, he was an ordinary man who kept a journal, never with the expectation that it would be published.

About the Author
Achilleas Sirigos was born in Athens on 24th May 1973. He undertook a Law degree at Athens University and fulfilled his childhood dream by becoming a sportscaster at SKAI TV at the age of 21. Since 1994 he has written more than 1.000 articles in the biggest Greek magazines and newspapers (including interviews with Paolo Coehlo, Michael Jordan, Luc Besson, Professor Nanopoulos and many others). In addition he has edited 2 books, hosted TV and radio shows and worked in more than 50 prime time TV shows as an executive producer, project manager or editor in chief, aired by the biggest TV stations in Greece (MEGA, ANT1, STAR, SKAI, ALPHA). He has also worked with all the leading Production Companies in Greece (ENA Productions, ANOSI, Studio Ata, On Productions, Plus) as project manager and creator of TV formats. After working for more than two years on the scripts of Paul Amadeus Dienach, he decided to publish worldwide the new edition of Dienach's original Diary Pages, which was formerly available only in Greece. This legendary book, which was originally given to him by his brother, is now the centerfold of his life and he is determined to share this world heritage with as many readers as possible.

Enlightening and eye-opening

This was a very enlightening read. Whether or not this is a true account of the future or a strange metaphysical event with other explanations, the book sets out in fascinating detail what will (or could) happen over the course of the next two millennia. Some of it is shocking but most of it offers hope for humanity at a time in which there is little. It seems impossible to fathom a world without wars, poverty, or people working like slaves - how could such an outcome ever happen? This diary sets out exactly how it CAN happen. While some of the apparent future events are nothing less than disastrous, I can only hope that the rest of it - the evolution of mankind to a new and peaceful way of being - becomes a reality.

The dream is beautiful the colors are bright and the story unique

This is a truly interesting read. Is a spiritual journey to the future. Irrelevant if is a true story or not. The dream is beautiful the colors are bright and the story unique. The message is positive the future is bright, beyond imagination. If true there is nothing to be afraid, just relax and enjoy.
Strongly recommend as an odd, intriguing mental experience.

Fascinating and enlightening !

Must read for anybody with an open mind searching for answers to humanity's eternal questions. Enjoyed it thoroughly and it opened my mind to what is beyond what we can see.
